History

Ondokuzmayıs University Department of Thoracic Surgery was officially established in 1998 with the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) dated February 9, 1998 and numbered 2193. Prof. Ahmet Başoglu M.D. is the head of department. Specialization training in the field of thoracic surgery has been provided in our department since 1998. There are 6 faculty members including 4 professors and 2 assistant professors in our department.

Services Provided

It serves patients with its research assistants, nurses and staff experienced, in the field of thoracic surgery with modern postoperative care unit and clinic. We provide service with a total of 20 beds, 4 of which are private rooms.

Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) (Closed surgery technique) is performed in all appropriate cases and in all diseases within the field of thoracic surgery.
