Who Are We?
Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine aims to guide society by supporting original scientific research that will contribute to medical science. It is an educational institution that aims to contribute to creating a unique education that aims beyond expectations by using national sources effectively and a health policy according to the needs of the society. Our faculty, founded in 1973, has 168 professors, 70 associate professors, 59 assistant professors, 8 doctoral research assistants, 2 lecturers and 613 research assistants. We currently have about 2000 students.

What About Our Qualifications and Academic Vision?
Our faculty members aim to train physicians who work in cooperation with all healthcare stakeholders and who adopt the fundamental values of medical ethics and also aim to prepare productive and innovative academics who have a team spirit and can guide students satisfactorily and adequately. Our faculty members have brought many awards to our faculty so far.

Our faculty's Journal of Experimental and Clinical Medicine (JECM) is a peer-reviewed online journal published quarterly, and the issues are compiled on demand.

What Facilities and Opportunities Do We Offer?
There are seven laboratories in our faculty, including Stereology Laboratory, Brain Research Laboratory GIS and Pain Laboratory.

Our students have achieved much success, including first place in the Clinical Category of Proceedings Contest for Assistants and TÜBİTAK -2209-A University Students Research Project Funding Program.

What Are Our Programs and Job Opportunities?
Our students are employed in public institutions and organizations, public hospitals administration, public and private hospitals, universities and research centres, biomedical companies, medical device maintenance, repair and calibration centres, self-employed biomedical firms and other related sectors. What Exchange Programs Do We Offer Our Students? Our faculty supports Erasmus, Farabi and Mevlana student exchange programs, and teaching opportunities are provided in countries and schools our University has agreements with. Opportunities to improve language skills are provided with student exchange programs.

In What Ways Do We Support the Professional, Cultural and Social Atmosphere?
There are two types of association structures classified into professional and social categories within the body of our University. Professional associations are specific to faculties, while social associations are of a general nature. In this context, OMU, with a total of 51 associations from photography to agriculture and cycling to chess, offers the institutional background necessary to create the atmosphere that will enable our students' study spaces and cultural development in the social field with 93 communities. Our students have carried out many activities and organizations with the associations. Ondokuz Mayıs University perceives its students as primary stakeholders and always supports new association proposals that will enable their development.

To become a respected faculty with high scientific recognition and to meet the needs and expectations of internal and external stakeholders, our faculty continuously carries out improvement and development activities. Services and analyses required for multidisciplinary collaborations or individual projects (stem cell, primary and secondary cell culture, cytotoxicity, genotoxicity and gene expression analyses, etc.) are carried out at the Stem Cell Application and Research Centre (KÖKMER) of our University.
