Ondokuz Mayıs University, Turkish/English Medical Doctorate Program 2021-2022 Academic Term opening activities will start on 14 September 2021 at 10:00. The place where the event will be held is the Ondokuz Mayıs University Congress and Culture Center. Following the event, the National Anthem and a moment of silence, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. It will start with the opening speech of Cengiz Çokluk. Later, Ondokuz Mayıs University Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal will give their speech. Two distinguished scientists will be speaking at this year's event. First of all, between 10 45-11 30, Prof. Dr. Talat Kırış will make a speech. The title of his speech is "The Road to the Brain". The second speaker is Prof. Dr. Emin Kansu. This talk, which will be held between 11:30 and 12:15, is "Nobel Prizes and the Importance of Curiosity in Science". The event will then continue in the form of "wearing an apron" and prizes.
This opening ceremony will be the opening ceremony of the Turkish and English Medical Doctor Program of Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine, as well as the opening ceremony of the Turkish Medical Doctor Program of T. C. Samsun University, Faculty of Medicine, which has just joined us. We welcome the valuable students of T. C. Short Biographies of Speakers:
Prof. Dr. Emin Kansu
He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1970 with the "İhsan Doğramacı Outstanding Achievement Award". He completed his internal medicine residency training in 1974 and the hematology minor residency training in 1978 at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, USA. He became associate professor in 1979 and professor in 1988. Since 1982, he has been the Founding Head of Hacettepe University Oncology Institute, Department of Basic Oncology. He was a member of YÖK between 1988-1992 and a member of the Ethics Working Group of the European Union and European Science Commission between 1992-1996. In 2002, he served as the Founding President of Hacettepe University Oncology Institute, Basic Oncology Department.
Prof. Dr. Talat Kiris
He was born in 1961 in Sulaymaniyah maternity home. He graduated from Ataköy Primary School, Istanbul High School for Boys and Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, respectively. During his studentship, he did internship in accident surgery and neurosurgery clinics in the country and abroad. prof. Dr. He participated in field studies on Leprosy disease in Van with Türkan Saylan. Between 1986-1992, he worked on cranial base tumors and cerebrovascular diseases on a scholarship at the Borrow Neurology Institute in Phonix, USA. He became an associate professor in 1999 and a professor in 2006.
