Basic Medical Sciences
Basic Medical Sciences conducts educational activities aimed at teaching the characteristics necessary for the maintenance of life, disease, pathological mechanisms, and the basic principles of treatment at different stages and years of undergraduate medical education. Several related departments also provide medical specialization training. Additionally, academic activities are conducted within the university for the education of doctoral and master's degree students. The Departments of Anatomy, Biophysics, Biostatistics and Medical Informatics, Medical Biochemistry, Histology and Embryology, Physiology, Medical Microbiology, Medical Biology, Medical Education, and the Department of Medical History and Ethics are among the basic medical sciences.
A total of 42 faculty members work in the departments within the Department of Basic Medical Sciences: 26 Professors, 5 Associate Professors, 9 Assistant Professors, and 2 Lecturer. Currently, 32 research assistants are continuing their training. To date, 118 research assistants have graduated from the Department of Basic Medical Sciences as specialists.
